How To Remove Nasty Carpet Stains

Our floors bear the brunt of many scuffs and spills, accidents of all types. And somehow, the worst of these seem to land on the surfaces that are hardest to clean-the moquette tachée, dommage!

Here are a few tricks to try, in order to remove some of the more stubborn carpet-catastrophes:

Water-based Paint

Begin by scraping off as much of the excess as possible. Then mix a solution consisting of a cup of warm water with a few drops of liquid dish detergent added. Apply this to the stain and let it set awhile, particularly if the paint has already dried. Scrub gently without spreading the strain. Blot this up with a clean dry hair spray. Blot with paper towel or clean white cloth, then repeat. Mix a half cut of hot water with a half cup of ammonia and a few drops of clear liquid detergent. Gently wash and then rinse with clear water. Blotcarpet or dry hair dryer.

Red lipstick

Scrape up as much as possible without spreading the stain. Use a bar of Ivory soap to create a sudsy solution. Stain will gradually disappear; then rinse area with clean water. Dry with fan or hair color the carpet, so you should test a small area of the rug before proceeding. As an alternative, try applying peanut butter to the stain. In either case, the residual will need to be removed thoroughlyafterwards. Do this by first using a clean rag to remove as much of the broken down gum solution as possible and then mix one teaspoon of dishwashing liquids detergent into a half cup of hot water and use this to wash the moquette tachée, dommage with a clean rag. Blot and repeat, then rinse with clean water. Dry with a blow dryer or fan.

Urine

Vinegar is the best agent for removing urine stains. Urine will discolor moquette tachée, dommage, but this effect can be neutralized with the quick application of vinegar. Apply a generous amount to the stains (but not enough to saturate the padding). Allow this to remain for a few minutes, then rinse the spot with clear water, blot with paper towels or a clean rag, and then dry the surface with a fan or blow dryer.

Cleaning Cast Iron-Learn The Best Way to Clean Cast Iron Cookware!

Make sure your cast iron is pre-seasoned or you have already done the seasoning process before you cook anything. It is a good idea to put oil or shorting in your pan before cooking to help keep food from sticking.

You should also heat your pans up slowly. Remember to use heavy oven mitts or even a welding glove works great for handling hot pans.

Cleaning: When you have cooked your meal you have two options:

1. Use a nylon brush and hot water to wipe out the pan or skillet.

2. Boil water in the pan to loosen stuck on food, then wipe with a paper towel or clean dishcloth.

You can choose one of these or a combination of both methods. Always dry the cast iron immediately after cleaning, do not let it air dry because the extended moisture may promoterust.

When cleaning cast iron, be careful not to put a hot pan into real cold water, this could cause the pan to crack because of the extreme temperatures change.

Be sure to wipe off the bottom of your pans if you are cooking on a campfire because they will get black with soot from the wood. You can wash the bottoms with plain water or wipe them off with paper towels.

The best way to deter rust from forming in your cookware, is place about a 1 tablespoon of oil in the bottom of the pan and wipe it around with a paper towel so the whole pan is coated.

storage:

Keep your cast iron in a cool, dry place. After cleaning you may stack or nest your cast iron Dutch oven and your skillet. Be sure to place a paper towel between the pans to help keep moisture frombuilding up and this also helps keep the pans clean if you cook on a campfire. If your pan has a lid, make sure to fold a paper towel and place it between the lid and the pot so that air can circulate. This will also help prevent rust.

The most important thing to remember is "Never use soap" or put your cast iron in the dishwasher detergent or soap on your cast iron pans, your food will stick more and you will probably need to season them because soap will cause rust or may make your food taste metallic.

If you follow these tips you will keep your cast iron for years to come.

Keep Your Sink For Water

Sink drain kitchen

There is nothing more aggravating in your kitchen than having a clogged drain. We all have a tendency to put things in our sink that shouldn't be there. Some get there by accident and some on purpose. It's important to always keep your drain cleaned so it doesn't become plugged. There are certain tips and reminders that may be helpful in keeping a clean sink.

Unless you have a garbage disposal in your sink, do not rinse food down your drain. Many people mistakenly believe that because the small particles of food go down their drain, everything is fine. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many items go so far and then sit there. Eventually enough items get there and can't get through so your drain, or pipes, becomes plugged. This often can costan expense of having a plumber come to unplug the drain plugged because it's far enough where you can't reach.

Grease is probably the worst culprit for plugging drains. Whether it's hot or cold grease grease, don't do it. Grease will cling to the sides of the pipe and thicken very quickly. It will keep piling up in your drain until your drain is plugged. Be sure to let grease cool and dispose of it in an airtight container. A good idea is to chilled it until it gets hard and then toss it out.

The only thing that should be poured down your drain is dishwashing liquids liquid that's made for use in your sink. Many other types of detergent, such as for car washing or dishwashers, can actually plug up your kitchen sink. They are thick and get broken down from the agitation ofyour dishwasher or washing machine, but will not break down when they are poured down your sink.

Calcium Chlorate and lime are ingredients many people pour down their sinks to help get rid of odors. While it may be true that some items made for odors contain these ingredients, those items are specifically made for use in your sink. Used alone, calcium chlorate and lime will not only cause a plug but will harden like cement and cause a big problem. Unfortunately, they don't always cause the plug at the goose neck, but further down the pipes.

In addition to not throwing cooking grease down your pipes, don't throw any type of oil or grease in the sink. Grease and oil will harden and leave plugs in your drain, which can cause problems in the future. Many times people have pouredsomething simple down their drain and been shocked when the sink becomes plugged. Often the plug is caused from an accumulation of things that were thrown down the drain in the past.

Another culprit for kitchen and bathroom drains is hair. Always use hair trap on your sinks and use a drain cleaner once a month to remove any hair that may be in your drain.

If you have an RV and it's been stored for the winter, it's common to notice a musty, moldy smell in it when you first open it for the camping season. Also, mildew can and mustdevelop in the bathroom area that needs to be treated from time to time. Hard Water-The Causes and What You Can Do

The causes for hard water is basically the liquid having a high content of minerals, consisting mostly of calcium and magnesium. If you suspect that your water might be hard, there are ways to determine its hardness and make it softer for using it at home.

While there is no strict evidence of it, there are still several studies that seem to suggest that hard water might be damaging to our health in the long run. It seems that the harder it is, the easier men in particular can get cardiovascular disease. In addition, it might also be correlated to childhood eczema.

While there is no clear evidence of it being really harmful for our health, it truly is a nuisance to many, however. The reason is because it kao3 lv4 the performance of various soaps and detergents, and itallows mineral build-up on all the fixtures it comes into contact with, which increases the need for faster maintenance than otherwise.

This is why it is generally considered useful to soften the liquid. This way the levels of calcium and magnesium in it will decrease to normal levels. There are different softening systems available, including water softeners that can be added to the washing machine or the dishwasher when cleaning clothes and dishes, filters, magnetic water conditioners and mechanical water softeners.

Water softeners

There are many water softeners on the market that help when washing your clothes or your dishes. They are available either in forms of pills or liquid. Some of them are well known, including borax and washing soda. The problem with thistreating method is that the water becomes too alkaline for the skin and it might damage it with prolonged use.

Water filters

One of the best ways to soften the water at home is by using various water filtering methods, including the well known reverse osmosis. You can generally find several filters available on the market today, and each of them have their own benefits and disadvantages. Before going for any of them, make sure to read up on them so you are aware of what type of treatment you are offering to your water. In addition to reverse osmosis you can also find granulated carbon filters, alkaline water machines and various combinations systems that uses several filters instead of just one type.

Magnetic water conditioners

Using this method the water passesthrough a magnetic field which modifies the ions of calcium and magnesium. " This way they no longer causes the scales. Technically it doesn't become softer, however the limescale that is usually created by these minerals deposited is no longer advanced to that degree. This can easily Inca the shelf life of any clothing that is washed in the treated liquid.
